  • The Barna Research Group (http://www.barna.org/) found further evidence that the contemporary Church in America has many problems.
  • Survey conducted showed that one in four American adults who said they were born again also believed that Jesus sinned while he was on earth.
  • A new study conducted among 16 to 29 year-olds shows that a new generation is more skeptical of and resistant to Christianity than were people of the same age just a decade ago. The study shows that 16 to 29 year-olds exhibit a greater degree of criticism toward Christianity than did previous generations when they were at the same stage of life. The new study shows that only 3% of 16 to 29 year-old non-Christians express favorable views of evangelicals.
  • A new study conducted among born again Christians in their twenties and thirties found that 33% believe that cohabitation, gambling, sexual fantasies, abortion, sex outside of marriage, profanity, pornography, same-sex marriage, and the use of illegal drugs is morally acceptable.
  • Only 12% of born-again Christians tithe their income.
  • One third of born-again Christians support the legalization of same-gender sexual relations.
  • By the end of the decade, 50 million Americans will seek to have their spiritual experience solely through the Internet, rather than at a church; and upwards of 100 million Americans will rely upon the Internet to deliver some aspects of their religious experience.
  • 62% of Americans claim to have “a relationship with Jesus Christ that is meaningful to them”. Yet only 10% of those people are involved in practical Christianity and are absolutely committed to prayer.

  • A look at the most recent statistics from Christianity Today and The Barna Group indicates that there are approximately 224 million US citizens that claim to be Christian, which is about 75-80% of our population. At first glance, this is a significant number, and from a purely statistical basis, would indicate that we are a Christian nation based on a wide majority of our people claiming that they are Christians. There might be 75-80% US citizens who claim to be Christian, but there is definitely not 75-80% true converts who follow Jesus Christ. If this was so, a President could never have been elected who believes in promoting abortion, excusing homosexuality, seeing prayer removed from our schools, and is systematically attempting to turn America away from the Judeo Christian foundation it was rightly built upon. The multitude of so-called Christians (False Converts) who sit in church pews each and every Sunday would not spend their eternity in Hell.

Matthew 7:22-23
22Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!
